2018 Report as Plebeian Aedile Maior

Salve,

First of all, I must say that I regret a lack of instruction or formation for the new magistrates who don’t have any experience. Learning by doing is time consuming and I had to bother often a few magistrates with my questions…
A detailed description of the function would be more than helpful.


Elections: At the request of Censor Curio, I have served as Rogator suffectus for the elections of the Comitia Centuriana, Session VI.
(Note: under the pressure of Censor Curio, I had to work on Christmas day until 4 a.m. so I can give the final result of the elections on the 26th of December. My wife was really happy…).

Magisterial Project Assignments: The 8th of January, Brutus sent to all magistrates a list of assignments.
Out of 4 assignments, I have totally fulfilled one (outreach to other organizations. I have contacted Lucius Metillius Niger of the french CDR, had with him a constructive discussion and we decided - with the agreement of Censor Curio who was also involved - that I will be the main contact between the RR and the french CDR).
I have discussed about the second one (Improvement of the new citizen orientation) with Censor Curio but without concrete result.
The 2 other assignments were out of my technical and linguistic competence (Podcast and virtual tour).

Assistance to the Aranearius: The 17th of January, I have contacted the Aranearius (on messenger) and offered my assistance. I did get any answer.

Organisation of Ludi: I organized the Ludi Florae which held from April 23th to May 3rd.

The Ludi Florae were my last official act as Plebeian Aedile. The RR was dying and I had better to do!

Nevertheless, I have kept loging in everyday. Last but not least: I’m probably one of the few magistrates (if not the only one) who paid the 2018 annual tax.

As you can see, I DID NOT exemplarily fulfilled the responsabilities assigned to me… Yes, as Plebeian Aedile, I have been only 3-4 months active.

Consular Tribunes, consider my report as you wish. You may decide (like Senator Camillus has suggested) that I don’t desserve any dinarii (zero denarii!). I’m fine with that. But please, don’t associate me to some other 2018 magistrates who never appear on the forum, who never accomplish any task for the RR and who never even log in. Because I did.

Galle, I will compensate you and select others some amount in my own denarii if we end up not giving out stipends for 2018. Least I can do for those that clearly toiled behind the scenes despite the failings of myself and my colleagues who held major magistracies in 2018.
