Curio Audens Sal.
This is a good question, and one that I shall clear up for you. As of currently the only potential internet game we have the possibility of doing is perhaps an online chess tournament. Perhaps in the future we will have more options, but as of right now that stands as the only 'internet' game. The others would be mostly how the contests have been currently in the Ludi. I shall outline how each one shall work for those who are confused on them.
History Contest - This would be a contest where questions of a historical nature, or trivia questions based on history, would be asked. The most correct answers would wind up winning overall. I would most likely reach out to Quadratus for such a contest as he has run it before and is more knowledgeable on Roman history than myself by far.
Art Contest - This would be an art contest, as the name implies, based around the specific Ludi its representing. For instance, for the Ludi Apollinares it would be something based on Apollo or music or something along those lines. This contest would be run by our Tribune, Gaia Cassia Longina as the leader of Collegium Artium.
Poetry Contest - This contest would be as the name implies, a contest of poetry based around the Ludi we are currently in. This one is pretty much a shoe in for the next Ludi, Ludi Apollinares, as poetry is very representative of Apollo. This contest would be judged by the Aediles, both myself and Curule Aedile Marcus Flavius Celsus.
Chess Contest - This would be the only one with potential to be run as an internet game. As the name implies, it would basically be a tournament of chess where the person with the most wins throughout it would stand to be the winner.
Chariot Races - These would be virtual chariot races, most likely to be done by our honorable Consul Publius Iunius Brutus. He has the software and recording for it, that would allow everyone to watch them. If anyone else has such software, please let me know. More people who have this available the better our chances of being able to host them.
Gladiatoria Munera League - And the big one I am introducing these next Ludi is the Gladiatoria Munera League. The setup will be alot like Nova Roma's old setup they had. It was a tried and true method that worked very well. So I have been working on adapting it to our own uses. It will be a league, as stated above, that will take place every month from the beginning of it. Every citizen would be allowed to enter one fighter for free, any additional gladiator would cost 10 denarii, to be deposited into the Aedile Cohors budget. During the matches, it is my hope to have a wager system set up where you can bet on who you think will win, and this would be deposited into a Societas fund to be set up, that way no one person is holding onto those funds for sake of transparency. This would help boost our economy and use of denarii as a whole. the winner of each bet would receive their winnings after the conclusion of that match. At the end of the league, the winner would receive a prize (most likely a denarii award) for having the MVP, if you will.
I hope this cleared up any and all confusion people may have had.
Valete!
