Procurator G. Modius Athanasius

I am Gaius Modius Athanasius, formerly of Gens Cassia, but just recently the founder of Gens Modia. I serve Nova Roma, currently, in the capacity of Legate of Lacus Magni, and as Flamen Pomonalis. Both my magistracy, and my flamenate I hold in high esteem.

If someone were to ask me why I joined Nova Roma I would tell them that it is because of my interest in the Religion of the Roman people, and their tolerance. I am very much involved within Neopagan circles, and as a reconstructionist I felt that an organization like Nova Roma would assist me in my spiritual goals. Currently, I am the Senior Druid of an Hellenic Grove and a Dedicant Priest within the mainly Celtic Neopagan organization Ár nDraíocht Féin. In my pursuit of knowledge towards Greek culture, I came to learn about Roman culture, both of which I hold in the highest regard. My involvement in active Neopagan ministry is one of the things I bring to Nova Roma. I have been organizing religious, and spiritual groups for years, and have led many public workshops and rituals.

Surely I have aspirations within Nova Roma. I would not be a New Roman if I did not have goals, and strivings. I would eventually like to become an Augur, and perhaps a Pontiff. The spiritual realm is my primary concern. However, within the secular sphere I would also like to take steps towards involvement in the political machine of Nova Roma. I am not sure what that will entail, but the future is a bright one indeed.

On a personal note, I would like to mention that I live in Springfield, Ohio. I am married, and I have a two cats (Lodin, and Morpheus), a dog (Rusty), and a ball python (Pythagoras) that is missing and presumably deceased. I work in advertising sales, and enjoy reading, writing, and beating all of my friends at Warcraft III.
