LEX IUNIA-FABIA: Determining fault – The criminal versus civil complaints, the court and sentencing process of the Res Publica

I accuse Brutus of electoral assembly corruption or interference.
Based on Alba’s claims as aranearius and as consul Brutus failed to repair the elections system.

I accuse the ex-consuls and praetor of last year of disregard for the operating procedures of the Roman Republic. None of them came close to fulfilling their duties as stated in our laws.

If Alba’s claims are false then I accuse her of character assassination against Brutus.

SALVE!

Laevus you daft arse, why are you biting the hand that feeds you?!

Did Alba’s stretching wake you from your slumber?

VALE!

Salve Cispi,

I take notice of your concerns. The consular tribunes (minus Brutus) will review.

Sal.

I will provide any information or details that would assist the Consular Tribunes in this matter.

The Consular Tribunes do not find that Caeso Cispius Laevus has adequately fulfilled the requirements of the Lex.

If he wishes to proceed on any of his accusations, he must file a specific, individual, detailed complaint for that accusation.

Then they individually will be assessed per the Lex.

Salvete,

Tiberius Terentius Varro wrote:A private citizen may post additional motions for this meeting here to be presented to the senate upon review and endorsement of at least one Consular Tribune.

I suggest the revision of our electoral system. Our current system, based on the vote of the Century Assembly and of the Tribal Assembly, may have work 2000 years ago but it’s not adapted to the XXIth century at all.

For those who don’t know or who forgot, it doesn’t matter how many people vote in a century (or a tribe). At the end, only the result of the century (or the tribe) counts.

An (simplified) example: we have to nominate a Citizen to a magistracy...
- In the Century I, 15 citizens vote. 14 say Yes and 1 say No.
- In the Century II, only 2 citizens vote and 2 say No.
- In the Century III, only 1 citizen vote and say No.

Result of the voting:
- Century I: Yes.
- Century II: No
- Century III: No
The No prevails.

14 said Yes, 4 said No but the No prevails… In this example (and this is not fantasy, this how it happens) the vote of the only elector of the Century III equals the vote of 14 persons of the Century I.

In my opinion, we should change our electoral system. All the votes should have the same value. One elector = one vote.

Valete,
Gallus

Another motion regarding the elections: Control and verification of the citizen accounts.

It’s really easy to create fake accounts and therefore to manipulate elections. I think we should insure that each account is verified and belongs to one real person. And we shouldn’t allow 6, 8 or 10 citizens (accounts) to vote with the same IP address.
In any democratic country, one would suspect an electoral fraud (I don't say it happened. But I would love to be sure it doesn't happen).

The new elections system won’t accept multiple votes from a single IP or commonly used VPNs.

So this should in theory help mitigate this valid concern. :)

I want to remind you that questions regarding the activities of governors have not been addressed. It is not clear who is the current governor, and whose powers have expired. In addition, I would like to receive due to me for the leadership of the province, as you see, Sarmatia is alive, unlike other provinces, even despite the crisis. I believe this should be appreciated and deserves an award.

SALVETE!

The terms of governors ended June 1.

I hope we soon can update the governorship according to the new lex.

As for an award... Prove to me Sarmatia did stuff as a province. Pictures and reports or it didn't happen. And even if it did, why did you keep such activities to yourselves? You do this, then I would start to consider an award.

Your testicles are steel... Asking for an award on the heels of 2018... How about we debate the validity of a participation ribbon to hang on your wall...

Actually, specifically, you, Camillus, can not consider anything. I'm tired of listening to you. Apparently, Alba, was right and time taught you nothing. You yourself apologized for about the same words, for the same behavior that you are doing now. I restrained myself to the last, but the abominations that you start talking about all the Sarmatians are not permissible. I have endured such words in relation to myself, but when you dare to open your mouth and say similar things about all Sarmatians, it is already impossible to endure. Then you crossed the line, but apparently you crossed it even earlier ... to remind you what nasty things you said about Triarius and Victor, how you tried to appease the Sarmatians, as Brutus accused?
I am disgusted to speak with someone who first begged us for help, then secretly, like a thief, made intrigues, behind the same Brutus, creeped in front of the Sarmatians, and now, as an offended defector, you again start to pour mud on someone, but no longer individuals, like Victor or Triarius, and the people of the whole province.
Did you remember the gods? So remember your actions, before remembering the Gods. I think they start to feel sick from your duplicity, every time you remember them.
Just shut your mouth.

I wanted to add that I had in mind the need to consider my governorship in the period 2017-2018, here is my report, which was published last year, however, was not reviewed, since the relevant committee did not work: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=2359
