Edictum Praeturae: Collegium Militarium Elections and Bylaws

The election result announced by M. Minucius Audens is hereby void by this edict.

The bylaws of the Collegium Militarium are not in compliance with the interests of the Res Publica as there is only two voting members. This is acceptable for a Societas but not a Collegium according to the laws of the Republic.

This edict voids the bylaws of the Collegium Militarium and asks that new bylaws be approved by a general vote of the membership and that all members of this Collegium be provided a single vote.

To see that this Collegium is in compliance with the consular edict and laws of the Republic the Praetores will now be overseeing this election and the RomanRepublic.org voting system will be used. This means email ballots will be used.

I ask that any citizen propose new bylaws at this time.

I ask that elections for co-leaders of this Collegium occur under a system where each registered member appearing at http://romanrepublic.org/civitas/joint_ ... rectory/41 is provided a single vote.

The two candidates getting the most support shall be elected co-leaders of this Collegium.

Bylaws are to be approved by a general vote of the membership.

M. Minucius Audens and M. Aurelius Seianus are entered as candidates.

Additional candidates are accepted until Feb 1.

Elections for the leadership will start Feb 2 and run till Feb 9.

The elections will be monitored by Aediles C. Cassia Longina and M. Livius Horatius.

This edict is effective immediately.

I support the work of Audens.

But I also support every member having an equal say in selecting the leadership at this time. The members of this Collegium selected Audens and Seianus as co-leaders. Two worthy men. I think this will should be heard.

I support this edict. I hope this Collegium is stronger in a few weeks because of it. I also hope that Seianus and Audens are both okay with remaining candidates in the elections that will be held through the RR voting system. A fair solution to this matter.

Another spot has opened up in this Collegium for leadership.

If you have a love for all things related to the Roman military, be it scholarship, reenactment or both, I strongly encourage you to consider stepping forward to run as a co-leader of the Militarium.

Please contact me if you have any questions, as always I'm happy to help!

Reminder, today is the last day to announce candidacy for this esteemed collegia.

Do so by posting to the Militarium forum.
