Edictum Praeturae: Transfer of Control of the Collegium Militarium to the Senate and Praetores

Postby Caeso Cispius Laevus » Wed May 10, 2017 3:43 am

No candidates for co-leader came forward to head the Collegium Militarium. Therefore...

I. The leadership of the Collegium is temporarily transferred to Praetor M. Flavius Celsus and elected leader of this Collegium, M. Aurelius Seianus

II. At the next Senate meeting, it shall be proposed by the Praetores or Consules that this Collegium be dissolved or a co-leader be appointed by order of the Senate.

III. This edict hereby suspends the bylaws of the Collegium Militarium in order to allow for dissolution or reform.

IV. This edict is effective immediately and issued on VI Id. Mai. L. Curtio L. Aurelio cos.

If you are interested in co-leading this collegium please present your name for it may be considered. Otherwise, if no volunteers come forward I propose this Collegium be immediately dissolved.

By order of CONSUL L. Aurelius Curio, this Edictum is vetoed in compliance with the Edictum Censorium of T. Flavius Severus Censor (viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1967).

If any collegia wish to have any edict issued to help them sort out their bylaws problems, please contact Consul Curio or myself.

Sal.

So after the excitement of the Spring, who is actually in control of this Collegium? It is a travesty that the legacy of the legions is reflected in our modern Republic so negligently.
